COMMUNITY FIRST.

FUTURE FORWARD.

Together, we can build a stronger, safer Santa Clarita for everyone.

Meet Dr. Kelvin DriscolL

“The future of our community isn’t something we inherit. It’s something we build—together.”

Before he’s a public servant, lecturer, or nonprofit leader, Kelvin is a husband and father.

Kelvin and his wife, Javaneh, are raising their two daughters, Ava and Ari, in Santa Clarita because they believe it’s one of the best places in California to call home. Like so many local families, they’re invested in safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, responsible growth, financial stewardship, and preserving the quality of life that makes our community special.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find Kelvin exactly where many Santa Clarita parents are—cheering from the sidelines. Whether it’s swim lessons, karate, gymnastics, or dance, much of his free time is spent supporting Ava and Ari as they explore new interests, build confidence, and make lifelong memories. When he’s not at one of their activities, you’ll likely find him enjoying one of Santa Clarita’s parks, supporting local businesses, or talking with neighbors about the future of the community they all call home.

That’s why Kelvin is running for City Council.

Kelvin believes local government should make people’s lives better.

It’s a belief that has guided Kelvin throughout his career.

For nearly two decades, Kelvin has dedicated his professional life to serving others, strengthening communities, and solving complex public challenges. Today, he serves as Director of a leading Southern California nonprofit organization, where he leads more than 600 employees and oversees programs that provide housing, behavioral health, and other essential services to thousands of people each year.

Before assuming his current role, Kelvin spent more than a decade serving the residents of Los Angeles County in leadership positions across multiple county departments, including the Departments of Mental Health, Probation, Human Resources, and Public Social Services, as well as the offices of two Los Angeles County Supervisors. Throughout his career, he has worked to strengthen public services, improve government accountability, expand opportunities for working families, and help solve some of our communities’ most complex challenges.

From the boardroom to the classroom, from nonprofit leadership to public service, Kelvin has spent his career bringing people together, managing complex organizations, and delivering results that improve lives.

His commitment to service extends well beyond his professional career. He has served on the boards of local and regional nonprofit organizations, volunteered on statewide leadership boards, and remained actively involved with organizations dedicated to expanding opportunity and strengthening communities. Whether serving in the boardroom or volunteering his time, Kelvin believes leadership means giving back.

As an Adjunct Lecturer at the USC School of Social Work, Kelvin teaches graduate students preparing for careers in public service and nonprofit leadership. Sharing what he’s learned and helping others grow as leaders is one of the most rewarding parts of his career.

Education has always been important to Kelvin. He earned bachelor’s degrees from both the University of Southern California and American University in Washington, D.C., followed by a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Administration from USC. He later earned a Ph.D. in Human Services, where his doctoral research explored how childhood experiences shape the work of professionals dedicated to serving others.

Now, Kelvin is ready to bring that same approach to serving Santa Clarita.

His campaign is built on a simple belief: when we listen to one another, work together, and keep our focus on the people we serve, there’s no challenge our community can’t overcome.
