COMMUNITY FIRST.

FUTURE FORWARD.

Together, we can build a stronger, safer Santa Clarita for everyone.

Dr. Kelvin DriscolL’S PRIORITIES

We’re raising our family in Santa Clarita because of its safe neighborhoods, strong schools, and quality of life.

But too many families in our community are facing challenges today. The cost of living continues to rise. Traffic impacts commutes and time at home. Growth isn’t being managed responsibly, and city government isn’t focused on the issues that actually affect daily life.

We need leadership that is practical, collaborative, and focused on results so that we can build a stronger, safer Santa Clarita for everyone.

Our city works best when we work together. District 5 includes residents from many different backgrounds and perspectives, but most of us want the same basic things: safe neighborhoods, responsive government, and a strong future for our families. As your City Councilmember, I promise to listen to you, work across differences, and focus on practical solutions instead of political division.

Keep Santa Clarita Safe

Residents continue to identify public safety as one of the most important issues facing Santa Clarita. Residents believe Santa Clarita is a safe place to live and raise a family.

Here’s what I’ll do:

  • Support strong partnerships with the Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department.
  • Invest in prevention and neighborhood safety.
  • Stay visible in our district to identify concerns early.
  • Advocate for resources where they’re needed.

“I love that Santa Clarita is a safe place to live, and I want to keep it that way. I don’t want us to wait until there’s a problem before we act. I want the City to stay focused on keeping our neighborhoods safe and being prepared for whatever comes our way.”

Improve Traffic and Mobility

Traffic congestion continues to be one of the top issues concerning residents.

Here’s what I’ll do:

  • Support roadway improvements.
  • Improve neighborhood connectivity.
  • Prioritize pedestrian and bicycle safety.
  • Advocate for projects that improve access to and within District 5.

“Traffic is getting more frustrating. I know we can’t eliminate it, but I want the City to keep improving our roads, intersections, and connections so it’s easier and safer to get where I need to go.”

Support a Thriving District 5

Create more reasons for residents and visitors to spend time in District 5 by supporting vibrant local businesses, community events, public art, and family-friendly activities. Establish District 5 as the heart of Santa Clarita’s arts, culture, and entertainment.

Here’s what I’ll do:

  • Recruit the right businesses
  • Activate public spaces
  • Invest in public art
  • Partner with local organizations
  • Encourage development that creates memorable experiences.

“I love living in the 5th district. I just wish there were more places where my family could grab dinner, listen to live music, meet up with friends, or spend a Saturday afternoon without having to leave our neighborhood.”

Be a Councilmember You Can Reach

When residents have a concern, a question, or an idea, they  shouldn’t have to wonder if anyone at City Hall is listening. They deserve a Councilmember who is visible in the community, responds to residents, and works to solve problems together.

Here’s what I’ll do:

  • Hold neighborhood office hours.
  • Be visible throughout District 5.
  • Respond promptly.
  • Report back regularly.
  • Listen before making decisions.
  • Follow through on my commitments.

“I don’t expect my councilmember to have every answer, but I do expect them to listen, be visible in the community, and be someone I can actually reach when something matters. I want a councilmember who’s present year-round—not just during campaign season—and stays connected to the people they represent.”

Make Growth Work for Residents

Growth and development remain among residents’ biggest concerns. Specifically, how growth affects quality of life.

Here’s what I’ll do:

  • Ensure new development benefits existing neighborhoods.
  • Support businesses, jobs, restaurants, and entertainment.
  • Protect neighborhood character while planning for the future.
  • Make sure District 5 has a seat at the table before decisions are made.

“I know our city is growing, and I don’t expect that to stop. I just want growth to be planned the right way. As new homes and businesses are built, I want the roads, parks, and other services to keep up, and I want growth to make our community better—not more crowded or harder to enjoy.”

Bring More Investment to District 5

Every neighborhood deserves its fair share of attention and investment. By improving the infrastructure, supporting local businesses, and enhancing public spaces, we can ensure District 5 continues to grow and every resident shares in the city’s success.

    Here’s what I’ll do:

    • Advocate for more community assets.
    • Expand city services.
    • Pursue a neighborhood City Hall presence.
    • Champion capital investments that improve everyday life.

“I love our neighborhood, but sometimes it feels like we’re overlooked. I’d like to see more investment here so our families have the same opportunities, amenities, and services as every other part of Santa Clarita. When District 5 succeeds, the whole city succeeds.”
